The wing attach fittings are formed from and.080" and .090" thick 4130N steel plate and welded to the top fuselage longerons. The fuselage was first levelled side-to-side in preparation for installing the wing mounting brackets..
Here are the front wing mounts after cutting and shaping:

The holes are just drilled to 1/4" for now and will be match drilled to
the wings later.
These were then clamped in place on the fuselage with a 2 foot long 1/4"
rod to keep proper alignment. The right one was tack welded in place
first, with the centerline of the holes aligned with the centerline of the
top longeron of the fuselage:
Then a clear piece of tube was filled with food color dyed water and used
to get the left side mount in the proper location:
The rear mounts were then aligned using the same techniques and tack welded
in place. Make sure that you have exactly 32" (or whatever your wing
spar spacing is) in between the front and rear mounts:

The picture shows the water level in place and the rear mount being measured
from the front mount. 32" from the inside of the forward half of front
mount to the inside of forward half of the rear mount.
