Gear Strut Attachment Fitting

The landing gear strut attachment fitting parts are drawn full size on the plans.  Here is a picture of the front and rear fitting parts and .125 doublers, ready for the doublers to be welded in place:

As you can see in the above picture the fittings have been pre-bent.  The front strut attachment fitting has a notch cut out of it. This is for the T11 tube at the center of the fuselage (at station "C") to clear.  The rear side of station "C" has no center tube, therefore, no notch in the rear piece.

Here is the strut attachment parts final welded in place at the center of Station "C":

In the above picture, the holes are 1/4".  These holes will be opened up to 3/8" before mounting the shock strut bearings.

Next, I will be positioning the fuselage in preparation for cutting and fitting the gear legs, axles, wheels, brakes and tires.
