A water tower in Oxford painted in the Ole Miss
colors:
These folks are very passionate in supporting their team. Don't
make the mistake of wearing an LSU shirt here or you might just get strung
up.
Here we are on the base leg for runway 27 at
Oxford:
Final approach with a 6 knot
crosswind:
As you can see, this runway is like a bowl. Its higher on each end
and sinks in the middle.
Here was something new that I learned about the Bearhawk. There was
a lineman signalling my parking spot to me and as I turned to center up on
him, he disappeared behind the nose and I could no longer see
him.
I think he figured it out because I saw his hands raise up high where
I could see them over the nose and he guided me into my spot.
Here is N57EN on the ramp at Oxford, MS taking on fuel ($5.10 per gallon).
She took on 25 gallons so we averaged about 8.3 gallons per hour for the
trip so far.
I had reserved a rental car from Enterprise and it was right there waiting
for us when we went out front. Here is Michelle and Cole ready for our big
day exploring Oxford,
MS:
Cole fell and broke his arm on the school playground yesterday, so that's
why he has a cast on. At first he was pretty proud of it, but now its starting
to irritate him a bit.
We found out that our timing was perfect for this trip. In addition to fantastic
weather, they were holding the second annual Oxford's Town Barbecue
contest and festival, drawing some of the best barbecue competitors in the
southeast part of the
country:
Here is the Bud Light Hummer. Cole - "I want one of THOSE
Papa!"
