Three solid coats of red Poly Tone were sprayed next.  This was allowed to dry for about one hour and the tape and masking paper were carefully peeled off.  Here are some pictures:

Done correctly, the cargo door virtually disappears:

The top is just dusty from generally sitting in the shop and not being washed for a few months.

Well that's it for the fuselage.  Next the tail pieces (horizontal stabilizers and elevators/trim tabs) were covered and then painted white using the same techniques:

The wings will be painted with Poly Fiber's Enamel.  The will be white with a red stripe along the leading edge and curving back to the wingtips.

To paint the wings, they were first hung from the ceiling by the flap and aileron hinges as shown here:

A couple of small details were completed before painting the wings.

1.  I installed the Cessna type cockpit air vents.

2.  The wingtips were fitted and all of the platenuts for the wingtip attachment were installed.

My Father-in-Law and helper Lonnie Gibbons came over and helped with installing the 90 nutplates that hold the wingtips on:

With those items completed, the wings were prepared for primer.  See that on the next page.
